Below you will find brief descriptions of three main categories your LMT will draw from for your sessions.

WESTERN/SWEDISH MASSAGE

30 minutes $45 . 60 MINUTES $75 . 90 MINUTES $105

WESTERN/SWEDISH MASSAGE involves the manual and physical manipulation of soft tissue for tension release, pain management, stress relief and more.

This hands on bodywork incorporates a variety of modalities and often utilizes massage oil.

SHIATSU

30 minutes $45 . 60 MINUTES $75 . 90 MINUTES $105

SHIATSU is an approach to hands on bodywork that utilizes the same meridian system found in the practice Acupuncture. Instead of using needles, Shiatsu uses finger/thumb pressure on specific points found along the meridian channels. The meridian system is an ancient eastern system that works in tandem with 5 element theory. In short, this system is complex and has been used for thousands of years to support physical and energetic wellness.

In tradition Shiatsu sessions, massage oil is not used and the practice can easily be performed over clothing.

CUPPING & GUA SHA

60 MINUTES $95 . 90 MINUTES $125

CUPPING is a hands on ancient eastern bodywork modality used to aid in breaking up adhesions and stagnant blood/fluid and flush out toxins trapped in soft tissues. This technique uses cups and suction to lift soft tissue and bring fresh circulation into the area.

There are a variety of types of cups and approaches used in cupping work. Traditionally, the air inside glass cups is heated with a flame and the cup is placed on a specific area. The heat created inside the cup draws the skin and underlying tissue up into the cup. Modern types of cups vary from silcone to plastic; some have valves and pumps to add/reduce suction.

During a cupping session, cups may be placed and left to sit or they may be used in a flowing/gliding motion with the use of a small amount of oil.

GUA SHA is a hands on ancient eastern bodywork modality that produces similar effects to cupping. Instead of cups, a porcelain ‘spoon’ or similar utensil is used with a small amount of massage oil (to provide slight glide). Your practitioner will use the lip of the spoon to apply pressure and a scraping motion along a specific area.

Please note that both Cupping & Gua Sha produce bruising/markings on the skin. This is expected.
